Intercultural communication is a one- or two-day training aimed at understanding the role of culture and its impact on functioning in multicultural environment and communication between workers or partners from different cultures. The workshop focuses attention on the challenges of multicultural crossroads at the workplace.

Program

Basic – 1 day

The training consists of following topics:

  • Introduction to intercultural differences
  • Nonverbal communication
  • Various concepts of culture
  • Stereotypes
  • Different norms and values – culture dimensions and their impact on interpersonal communication
  • Religions and traditions of various cultural areas.

Expanded – 2 days

The training consists of following topics:

  • Introduction to intercultural differences. Challenges of intercultural contact
  • Nonverbal communication
  • Reactions and acculturation strategies
  • Concepts of culture and the  phenomena occurring on the crossroads of cultures
  • Stereotypes and their impact on intercultural contact
  • Different norms and values – culture dimensions
  • Communication
  • Communication and negotiation in face of cultural conflict.

Methodology

The training methods will be used for the following work :

  • Interactive games
  • Discussion
  • Simulations
  • Quizzes
