Recruitment for the VII edition of the academic year 2010/2011 has already started

The Academy of Young Diplomats is an educational program of the European Academy of Diplomacy dedicated for students and young graduates wishing to start their professional career in Polish foreign service, international organizations and European institutions. The program offers lectures and workshops not available at universities. Recruitment will continue until 31 October 2010.

Diplomatic Protocol Training: September 18-19

Individuals who wish to enhance their knowledge about basic diplomatic protocol skills and savoir-vivre are invited to our diplomatic protocol training on September 18-19, 2010. During the training participants will get acquainted with the rules of diplomatic correspondence and proper etiquette as well as principles for contacting the media.

New EAD Polish Language Course

EAD is pleased to invite you to new, autumn Polish Language Courses. The classes will start on 20 September 2010 in the following groups: beginners, advanced beginners, intermediate, upper-intermediate, advanced (subject to the final number of students). The classes will be held twice a week, 1,5 hours each class for 13 weeks. The meetings are to take place either in the EAD office or in the premises of the EAD’s partners located in the centre of Warsaw.

The European Diplomacy Workshop

The EAD is now accepting applications for its European Diplomacy Workshop (EDW) which will be November 16 - 20, 2010 in Warsaw, Poland.

EDW aims to familiarize participants with EU Foreign Policy, especially with Poland's latest initiative within the EU: the Eastern Partnership. Over the course of four days, the program will cover four focus areas: EU Structure in the Context of Foreign Policy, the European Neighborhood Policy and the Eastern Partnership, Negotiations in and with the EU, and Basic Diplomatic Skills. Participants are invited to a special event held by the EAD on the last day of the workshop. Its honored guest in 2010 will be Mr. Javier Solana, former High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union and the Secretary General of NATO.

Challenges of modern diplomacy - EAD research

The European Academy of Diplomacy conducted research on the challenges of modern diplomacy among its students in May 2010. We asked young people who are looking to start a career in diplomacy about  the opportunities of and threats to Polish foreign policy, the best initiatives to promote Polish foreign policy and the tendencies they observe in global diplomacy (whether concerning human rights or military conflicts).

EAD Council of Ambassadors

The European Academy of Diplomacy's Council of Ambassadors assembled on Tuesday, June 15th, including the following ambassadors: Stanisław Ciosek, Grzegorz Dziemidowicz, Janusz Niesyto, Jan Piekarski, Julian Sutor and Krzysztof Płomiński. Paweł Wojciechowski, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also attended the meeting as a special guest.
