Last session of the 12th edition Academy of Young Diplomats

On 3rd-5th June 2016 the last eighth session of the Academy of Young Diplomats took place. During Friday session titled “Geopolitics and Democracy in the Post-Soviet area” Jacek Bartosiak and Zbigniew Pisarski from the Casimir Pulaski Foundation (CPF) discussed a range of issues concerning geopolitical meaning of the post-Soviet area. CPF experts elaborated on the concept of Russia’s power as a land empire, in the opposite of sea powers like United Kingdom or United States of America and Russia’s interest in the weak European Union.  Among other topics discussed, Jacek Bartosiak answered also numerous questions from the participants, including changes in the demographic structure of Russia, possibility of influencing Russians by sport, especially football, the role of Vatican in today’s great game, as well as Ukraine’s future.

On Saturday the participants took part in the last set of workshops and wrote the final exam.
