Last weekend we hosted the 7th session of the Academy of Young Diplomats. Friday schedule included a meeting with group of local Russian social activists who spoke about the challenges civil society is facing in Russia and the future Russia – West relations. During the main Friday seminar titled “Can International Organizations Provide for Security of its Members?” the participants discussed the international security architecture with Amb. The Spring School of Diplomatic Skills was successfully held on 20 – 24 March 2017. During the 5 – day program participants from Afghanistan, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine took part in workshops covering: public speaking, bilateral negotiations, leadership and team management, public diplomacy, digital diplomacy and diaspora policies, as well as written communication, effective meetings, diplomatic protocol and etiquette. The SDS was focused on developing the communication skills of the participants, providing them with a tool kit for sustaining both personal and organizational contact and relations, and proper external coverage of activities. VSPS Western Balkans Anti-corruption Forum first session has just started in Belgrade. Organized by the Visegrad School of Political Studies, a joint project of the EAD and the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, the session gathers participants and experts from all over the Western Balkans and Visegrad, who discuss ways of combating corruption, good practises and finding possible solutions. Second session will be held in July in Warsaw, Poland. Project will conclude with open meetings in 6 Balkan capitals. Project is supported by the Council of Europe and the International Visegrad Fund.
