Marek Grela
Permanent Representative to the European Union (2002 - 2006)
Marek Grela is a Polish diplomat, economist, former Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Poland to the European Union (2002 – 2006), and then Director for Transatlantic Relations and Counterterrorism in the Council of the European Union and Principal Adviser in the European External Action Service till 2012. He served in the Polish diplomatic service in Geneva, Madrid, Vienna, Dublin, Rome and Brussels.
He was a senior research fellow at the Institute of EastWest Security Studies in New York and in the Polish Institute of International Affairs. At present he is a consultant on European affairs, diplomatic adviser of the Polish Chamber of Commerce and collaborator of Polish and foreign centers of international studies. Graduate of international economics from Warsaw School of Economics; holds PhD in international economics. Professor at Vistula University in Warsaw.
