🏆 Congratulations to Dr. Florian Gasser, Alumnus of the Year! We are proud to announce that Dr. Florian Gasser was presented with the Alumni of the Year Award by Zbigniew Pisarski on behalf of European Academy of Diplomacy. This prestigious award is given annually to one outstanding member of our alumni community who demonstrates dedication to values like dialogue, ethical engagement, and leadership.

Florian is an alumnus of AYD 2023, where he graduated with distinction in the specialisation in International Security. Since then, his path has shown what it means to put diplomatic training into practice: 🔹 Diplomacy and European politics – He served for many years as Vice-President of the YEPP, co-developed the EPP/YEPP programme (2024–2029), and took an active part in events such as COP28 and the World Forum for Democracy. 🔹 Security and Eastern Europe – He was awarded a fellowship with the Young Network TransEurope (BBAW), a programme established in response to Russia’s war against Ukraine. 🔹 Academic and teaching excellence – He holds concurrent appointments at three universities and has been recognised with awards including the SHSG Teaching Award 2026 and the Alfred Gerardi Memorial Award.

Florian’s achievements demonstrate how diplomatic education can translate into meaningful impact. His work bridges policy, research and education, and it reflects the values we hope every graduate carries forward: commitment, expertise and a sense of responsibility for Europe’s future. His recognition as Alumnus of the Year is not only a celebration of his professional accomplishments but also an inspiration to our alumni and future participants to turn their knowledge and convictions into positive action. Congratulations, Florian, and thank you for being such a strong ambassador for our community! 👏
