Givi Gigitashvili

Givi Gigitashvili is an open-source analyst and Research Associate at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab, where he investigates influence operations, social media manipulation and computational propaganda campaigns in Eastern Europe and South Caucasus.

Gigitashvili has gathered versatile professional and research experience through engaging with various think tanks in Latvia, Ukraine, Germany, and Poland. Gigitashvili’s professional interests include influence operations and social-media manipulation campaigns in Eastern Europe and South Caucasus countries. His expertise includes politics in ex-Soviet countries, EU-Russia relations, and the Eastern Partnership program.

Gigitashvili graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University with a Bachelor of Arts in social sciences and continued his studies at the University of Tartu in Estonia, where he obtained MA degree in the EU-Russia studies. After receiving his education, Gigitashvili joined international research and consulting company Ecorys as an international development consultant, where he was providing research and consultancy services to a wide range of public and private clients in Eastern European countries.
