Special Guest – Minister Vuk Jeremić at the Academy of Young Diplomats 2021/2022
The European Academy of Diplomacy (EAD) is thrilled to announce Minister Vuk Jeremić as a Special Guest for the III Session* of the 2021/2022 edition of the Academy of Young Diplomats (AYD). During this session, Mr. Jeremić will deliver a Global Talk titled “Geopolitics of Western Balkans: Is Regionalisation the result of the pandemic in the region?.”
Minister Jeremić served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia from 2007 to 2012. Throughout his term as Minister, Mr. Jeremić visited over 100 countries carrying out official visits on behalf of the Serbian Government. In 2011 and 2012, Minister. Jeremić led Serbia’s highly successful campaign for the Chairmanship-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) for the year 2015. In 2012, Mr. Jerević became the President of the 67th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), where he emphasized the need for international unity at facing issues of conflict and instability around the globe. During his tenure at the General Assembly, he steered the United Nations towards establishing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Once his term at the General Assembly concluded, Minister Jeremić was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2013. And in 2014, Mr. Jeremić was appointed to the Leadership Council of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN). Since then, Minster Jeremić founded the Centre for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CISD), where he is currently President.
Besides his role in international policy, Mr. Jeremić has lectured at major universities, think tanks, and institutes around the world. Minister Jeremić is also the Editor-in-Chief of the quarterly magazine Horizons – Journal of International Relations and Sustainable Development.
Minister Jeremić’s insight in Sustainable Development, Leadership, and knowledge in the Geopolitics of the Western Balkans are a priceless contribution to the III Session of the 2021/2022 edition of the Academy of Young Diplomats.
