World Forum for Democracy 2024

We are delighted to share that participants from the Academy of Young Diplomats 2023/2024, under the Visegrad School of Political Science, had the privilege of attending the World Forum for Democracy 2024, held from November 6th to 8th. This event brought together thought leaders, policymakers, and activists from across the globe to address key challenges and innovations shaping the future of democratic governance.

During the forum, our participants actively engaged in various panels and discussions, delving into critical topics such as elections and values, disinformation, and citizen engagement for democratic renewal. These thought-provoking sessions fostered meaningful dialogue and facilitated the exchange of ideas on strengthening democratic institutions and processes in the digital era.

The forum concluded with a study visit to the European Court of Human Rights. Participants were afforded the unique opportunity to explore the court’s operations and interact with its staff, gaining profound insights into the mechanisms that uphold human rights across Europe.

A big thanks and congratutlations to the Council of Europe for celebrating their 75th anniversary and their continued commitment to protecting human rights, democracy and the rule of law. We eagerly anticipate attending the World Forum for Democracy 2025, reaffirming our commitment to fostering global dialogue and engagement.
