The beginning of February was meaningful for all students of the 14th edition of Academy of Young Diplomats. Participants had a delightful opportunity to take part in the III session of AYD on the 2-4th of February.

CNRS hosts the launch meeting of the project InsSciDE – Inventing a shared Science Diplomacy for Europe.
The French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) will host the launch meeting of the project InsSciDE -Inventing a shared Science Diplomacy for Europe- at the National Academy of Medicine (Académie nationale de médecine), on 26th January 2018. InsSciDE is funded through the European Horizon 2020 framework under the coordination of Professor Pascal Griset, Sorbonne Université. EAD is one of the major partners of the consortium created to build the project.
On 2nd December 2017, the European Academy of Diplomacy held the graduation of the 13th edition of the Academy of Young Diplomats and inauguration of the 14th edition. The program started with our partner, the Casimir Pulaski Foundation, presenting the Knight of Freedom award to Mary Robinson, President of Ireland (1990 – 1997) and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (1997 – 2000).
We would like to present a short film showcasing the participants of the AYD, young adepts of diplomacy, who are aiming to work in the EU or international organizations.
On December 2nd the new students of our flagship leadership and diplomatic program – the Academy of Young Diplomats (AYD) – will begin their adventure by meeting one of the most extraordinary women leaders in the world – Mrs. Mary Robinson – President of Ireland (1990-1997) and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (1997-2002).
The Diplomatic Skills Masterclass is designed for mid-career professionals from the international business, public administration and third sector. The course builds on previously acquired soft skills and presents an expanded set of topics that are designed to further prepare participants for the challenges and rigors of diplomacy, international business and working in multinational organizations in the 21st century. Our July 2017 Diplomatic Skills Masterclass has come to an end! It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the European Academy of Diplomacy pays farewell to Prof. Zbigniew Brzezinski, Polish-American geo-strategist, diplomat, former U.S. National Security Advisor and a member of the European Academy of Diplomacy International Honorary Council. Prof. Brzezinski has been supporting EAD for many years with his knowledge, counsel and expertise and will be missed greatly by the whole EAD community, staff and students.

Last weekend we hosted the 7th session of the Academy of Young Diplomats. Friday schedule included a meeting with group of local Russian social activists who spoke about the challenges civil society is facing in Russia and the future Russia – West relations.

The Spring edition of the European Diplomacy Workshop: EU Foreign Policy was held on 27 March – 1 April 2017. This time, the program focused on the development of analytical skills and deepening of the understanding of the various dimensions of the EU external policy. The group of participants consisted of representatives of 13 nations (Albania, Armenia, Belgium, China, Croatia, Czechia, Ghana, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine), with backgrounds in academia, NGOs, governmental institutions, including Ministries of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. The Spring School of Diplomatic Skills was successfully held on 20 – 24 March 2017. During the 5 – day program participants from Afghanistan, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine took part in workshops covering: public speaking, bilateral negotiations, leadership and team management, public diplomacy, digital diplomacy and diaspora policies, as well as written communication, effective meetings, diplomatic protocol and etiquette. The SDS was focused on developing the communication skills of the participants, providing them with a tool kit for sustaining both personal and organizational contact and relations, and proper external coverage of activities. Mr. Mikhail Khodorkovsky was a special guest of the ceremony of Graduation of the 12th edition and Inauguration of the 13th edition of the Academy of Young Diplomats held on 3 December. Mr. Khodorkovsky presented the best graduates with cum laude diplomas. The scholars of the 13th edition received scholarships from Member of the Board of PZU Foundation and President of the Casimir Pulaski Foundation. On December 3rd, the graduates of the 12th edition of the Academy of Young Diplomats received their diplomas from the Guest of Honour, Mr. Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who received the Casimir Pulaski Foundation Knight of Freedom Award. During the ceremony the best candidates of the 13th edition were presented scholarships funded by the PZU Foundation and the Casimir Pulaski Foundation.
