Academy of Young Diplomats 2020/2021: Last Session completed!
We are delighted to announce that we completed the last session of the Academy of Young Diplomats 2020/2021, after three intensive days of lectures and workshops.
During the session, co-organized with NATO, our participants had the opportunity to attend all the activities in Warsaw, while those unable to attend in person were offered a totally online program.
The Session was honored by the presence of two special guests: Dr. Jamie Shea delivered a lecture entitled “NATO: where do we go after the summit NATO Summit 2021: Where do we go from here??”, while MEP Radosław Sikorski spoke about “Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age: a challenge to NATO and EU countries?”. We were extremely pleased to be able to discuss this important topic with such highly experienced professionals!
On Saturday morning, our students had the opportunity to take part in several interesting Diplomatic Skills Workshops: a lecture entitled “Leadership Styles for Emotionally Intelligent Leaders” was presented by Mr. Andrew Buchanan, while Ambassador Urszula Gacek delivered her lecture on the art of “Savoir Vivre”. In the afternoon, Prof. Bartłomiej E. Nowak spoke about “Ethical Leadership” and another workshop was hosted by Prof. Katarzyna Pisarska, who discussed the topic of “Foreign Policy and Public Diplomacy”.
The last day of the Session, Sunday was instead dedicated to Specialization Classes. In the morning, participants of the International Organizations group were able to take part in a lecture concerning “NATO: intervention and prospects of peacebuilding. Case studies” delivered by Ambassador Sławomir Klimkiewicz, while in the afternoon the topic of “Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Causes, Dynamics, Scenarios and the role of NATO countries in the dispute” was conducted by Dr. Małgorzata Bonikowska.
On the other hand, the International Security specialization, along with the Polish Foreign Service started with the topic of “NATO vs China Foreign Policy” conducted by Prof. Dominik Mierzejewski, and, in the afternoon attended the “Military Intelligence in the modern world. Case Study of NATO countries” lecture, presented by Ambassador Piotr Łukasiewicz. We really look forward to the next edition of the program, to welcome many distinguished guests and new participants from all over the world!
