This training is intended for individuals seeking expert knowledge of diplomatic protocol and savoir-vivre: public administration employees, private sector representatives, students planning careers in the Foreign Service and other individuals interested in diplomatic protocol. “It usually takes me more than three weeks to prepare a good impromptu speech”, Mark Twain once said. Today, we may not have that much time, as our world „spins much faster” than that of Twain and his contemporaries. One thing remains true however, if you want to sound natural, almost carefree and be perceived as someone who can deliver a good speech at almost any time, you need to be well-prepared. During the Public Speaking and Speech Writing training, we will dive into the qualities that make a speech memorable, or simply good. We will also dwell on how to prepare a speech in writing and not to forget that it is primarily an oral art. We will experiment with storytelling as a means of building rapport with the audience. As we meet to explore and learn, you will also have an opportunity to practice your speeches in “laboratory environment”. And finally, we will work on fear or stress that usually accompanies speakers and on beliefs that may hamper your full success.

Intercultural communication is a one- or two-day training aimed at understanding the role of culture and its impact on functioning in multicultural environment and communication between workers or partners from different cultures. The workshop focuses attention on the challenges of multicultural crossroads at the workplace.
Negotiation skills – Win win negotiation enabling long term cooperation. Topics: understanding the interests, priorities and end aims of all the parties involved; pre-negotiation preparation; bias and cultural differences; dealing with irrational and illogical people; effective listening and the need for clarification; making an exploratory offer; finding common ground; how to manage colleagues; knowing when to walk away.
The aim of the course “International Multilateral Negotiation” is to present the participants with the knowledge on negotiation as a multi-party decision-making process. During the course the participants will be presented with the knowledge on key elements of negotiation (interests, BATNA, issues, criteria, propositions, commitments, relationships) as well as a tool for preparation for negotiation. Particular attention will be given to the process of coalition building and value creation in a multi-party negotiation. The participants will also have an opportunity to practice their negotiation skills in the simulation game that will be played during the second part of the course. The purpose of the game is to allow the participants to get experience as negotiators in a situation of a multi-party and multi-issue negotiation and to experiment with the knowledge acquired during the first part of the course. After the game a joint debriefing session is held, where the outcomes and experiences of the participants are discussed and feedback is given from the trainer.
A program designed for diplomats seeking an advanced understanding of the sui generis nature of the European Union and its institutional setting. The course is divided into three parts. It first provides a comprehensive overview of the history and institutional architecture of the European Union. Secondly it offers an overview of EU’s decision-making process. Lastly, it presents an overview of the European Union as a global actor in times of crisis, with a particular focus on EU-Russia relations, Eastern Partnership initiative and the impact of Brexit on the future of the project.

It first provides a comprehensive overview of the history and institutional architecture of the European Union. Secondly it offers an overview of EU’s decision-making process. Lastly, it allows the participants to practically implement the accumulated knowledge in a hand-on simulation of the proceedings of the Council of the European Union.
The EU Decision-making Process course provides the participants with specific knowledge of the legislative inner-workings of the European Union. Based upon discussing the form in which EU institutions, such as the Council of the EU, the European Commission and the European Parliament, are involved decision-making and how the process itself has evaluated since the Lisbon Treaty of 2007, the program is designed for everyone willing to expand their knowledge of the domain either for professional or personal needs.
The course provides a comprehensive examination of the processes of European economic integration and a critical analysis of the EU policies in their broader political-economic context.
